Introduction

RN, a privileged localization

O Rio Grande do Norte has privileged localization of the inside economic view. It can be said that the State is in the corner of South American continent in a central position between Europe, North America, Africa and, through the Canal of Panama, also of Asia. Moreover, he is practically in the way of Brazil, an almost equidistant point between the North and the Southeast it country. With 410 coast km, the RN has the biggest coastal density of the country. This strategical importance took the Americans during the World War II to host in Parnamirim, next city the capital, an important naval air base destined to control the communication with Africa through the Atlantic, what it came to contribute in the social and economic development of the State.
